Most cVPNs I see charge 10$/month unless you commit to 12/24 month plans. The average internet user apparently consumes 500gb/month, which I will use for price calculation. Since we don't have subscriptions yet we have to go by consumption. With a DVPN price of ~0.00075$, I propose to charge 11dvpn/gb (or 0.008$/gb) which is equal to a 4$/month subscription to a cVPN using the above metrics of data consumption. This means we still undercut all centralized VPN providers by a long shot while also increasing buy pressure from consumers. Even when the DVPN price rises we still have some head room to stay competitive. In addition I propose that node providers should have the ability to charge as much as they want for the service they provide. Since it seems like the parameter can't stay empty the maximal price is set to 7000dvpn/gb (or ~5$/gb) Decentre, Atom, Osmosis and Secret prices are all adjusted to 0.008$/gb as well.
For the following part I want to differentiate between adjustments and price changes. An adjustment means we change the DVPN value in order to match the price of 0.008$/gb in case the DVPN price increases or decreases. For example: we charge 11dvpn/gb but the DVPN price rises to 0.001$. In order to keep the same price point we have to adjust the amount of DVPN charged to 8dvpn/gb.
A price change would mean that the community is not happy with the price point of 11dvpn/gb (or 0.008$/gb) anymore and wants to increase or decrease the price. For example: we charge 11dvpn/gb the DVPN price stays at 0.00075$ but we realize that this price point is too steep to attract new customers. In order to do this we change the price to 4dvpn/gb equal to ~0.003$/gb.
In order to be flexible with adjustments in reaction to price fluctuations of DVPN, I propose that we set aside the need for a 7 day commonwealth discussion phase before bringing an adjustment proposal on chain and change the required discussion time to 1 day. For price changes there will still be the need for a commonwealth thread where the proposer elaborates on why he wants to change the price and takes input from the community for 7 days.
Vote YES if you agree with the price of 11dvpn/gb (~0.008$/gb) and the lowering of the discussion period for adjustments to 1 day Vote NO if you disagree with either the min price or the changes of rules in regards of the discussion period for adjustments Vote ABSTAIN if you refrain from voting Vote NO WITH VETO if you see this proposal as harmful or spam
